My Must Have Accessories For Autumn

Hurray, my first fashion post for the new season! As the days get colder and the nights get darker earlier, I thought I'd dig out a few favourite autumn accessories of mine that will see me right through the next few months. I've had a huge clear out in my wardrobe lately but there are some classic items that I just can't part with and will look perfect with any new clothing I get this year.
As I mentioned in my Autumn post, I am really getting excited about the season this year and that goes for clothing and accessories too.

So let's see what my must have accessories for Autumn are.

Wide Brimmed, Floppy Hat
I don't know what it is about this style but a floppy hat in a beautiful berry colour is one of my all time favourite looks for Autumn. As well as looking stylish, it helps keep my head warm and is a saviour on a bad hair day! I love wearing mine with a floaty dress and chunky boots but it would look equally as good worn with a layered look, a pair of jeans and a pair of ankle boots. There are so many shapes and styles of hats around that there will be one to suit everybody.

Printed scarf
A printed scarf is a chic accessory that will really give your outfit a lift, as well as keeping you keep warm. I love this beautiful plum coloured scarf with a pretty butterfly print and often wear it with a dress, oversized cardigan and boots, but it will look just as stylish worn with jeans, blazer and a knitted top.

Low Heeled Shoes
I usually think of a pair of boots as the perfect autumn accessory but I also love wearing these low heeled, round toe shoes with a double ankle strap. They are a great way to really smarten up an outfit and I usually style them with a cute printed dress and longer length jacket or cardigan. They also look great with a pair of jeans and printed blouse. These shoes are in a very dark burgundy colour and really compliment most neutral colours of clothing in my autumn wardrobe.

The Ankle Boots
No Autumn wardrobe would be complete without this classic accessory and it is one of my staples for this season. These brown heeled pair of ankle boots go with just about everything and I love wearing them with dresses and tights or jeans and an oversized jumper, plus they are great for kicking through the piles of leaves on the ground!

Wide Belt
A wide belt with a large buckle will instantly make a T-shirt and a pair of jeans look even more chic. I've also worn my belt with a fit and flare dress to add a bit of detail to my outfit.

A Pair of Gloves
I don't think I'm ready for the thick woolly gloves just yet but this time of year brings a slight chill to the air so I do have a pair of camel coloured gloves in my bag just in case. I think these are a lovely neutral shade and will go perfectly with all the berry, burgundy, green and plum tones in my autumn wardrobe.

The Large Tote Bag
Gone away are my summer straw bags and they have been replaced with a large tote bag. Not only do they look stylish but they are incredibly practical for carrying around all my daily essentials, including a mini fold up umbrella as we all know that the British weather can catch us out with a shower or two! The tote bag I am using at the moment is this gorgeous mock croc one with 2 large handles making it easy to carry on my shoulder or have it placed in the crook of my arm. It's such a classic style that it goes with absolutely everything in my Autumn wardrobe.

Jewellery
And of course, to complete my must have accessories for Autumn I always like to wear some pretty jewellery as it can really bring to life an other wise plain outfit. Let's not forget a deep coloured nail polish and a berry lip colour, I know technically they are for a makeup post but they had to feature somewhere on here, didn't they?

So there you have it, a few accessory essentials that I love to have in my Autumn wardrobe to help keep my outfits looking stylish throughout the season.
