A Little Homeware Haul

Would you believe it? Me doing a homeware haul! In the whole time I've been blogging I've never done a homeware post, but hey, there's a first for everything, right?
Technically this isn't all from one big shopping spree but over a course of a few weeks and I thought it would be quite nice to save up all the things I've bought to go in my bedroom and actually write a blog post. You may have seen a few of these already on my instagram but I wanted to put them all together in one place.
Now i'm just dying to show you what I got.

Dinki Belle Nail Wraps

If you know me by now, you'll know how much I love doing my nails with my favourite nail polish. However, I don't always have the time, or the patience, to sit and wait for each coat to dry for my perfectly manicured nails.
I've always wanted to try nail art, but me doing something that fiddly would most probably end up a disaster. So you can imagine how excited I was when I got hold of a set of Dinki Belle Nail Wraps.

The Autumn Outfit with Sammydress*

I always find Autumn to be quite a tricky season to style an outfit as you're never sure what the weather's going to be like when you leave the house in the morning, freezing temperatures and drizzly rain one minute or a blistering heatwave the next.
I've been wanting to update my wardrobe for a while now after having a huge clear out of items that I no longer wear. I needed to add a few key pieces in Autumnal colours that would see me through the next few months. And I've found just the most perfect dress!

Hydro Face Mask by Vitamasques

I've been so excited at the thought of trying out a sheet style mask ever since they came on the beauty scene a while back. They are wonderful little masks full of amazing ingredients and promise to give super hydration to the skin, which is just what I need when we're going into a new season where my skin can start to feel a little bit drier than it normally does.
The Vitamasques Hydro Face Mask has been designed to give super hydration thanks to the Artificial Moisturising Factor (AMF) which enhances the skin ability to retain moisture for up to 120 hours, that's nearly a whole week! It also contains extracts of Rose of Jericho for an extra moisturising boost, which is fabulous if you're like me and can suffer from dry, dehydrated skin.

October Goals

It's not only the start of a new month but October is officially the start of Autumn, with hot chocolates, cosy nights in and pumpkin or gingerbread candles creating that warm, homely smell.
As I start a new page in my diary I thought it would be quite nice to share 7 goals I'd like to achieve this month.

September Beauty Favourites

Well, here we are again, another month has passed by and I'm searching through all of my beauty products to see what I've really enjoyed using the most throughout September. Can you believe that Summer has been and gone, and we're now going into Autumn which I'm really looking forward to so much this year, it could be my new favourite season. My pumpkin candle has already been lit a couple of evenings this week and I've been eyeing up all the gorgeous new coats and knitwear that are in the shops right now. And I've even been making plans for Christmas, which is so organised for me it's unreal! One thing I can't bring myself to enjoy is a Pumpkin Spice Latte, yuk, it's just too milky for my liking, no I'll always be a cappuccino girl!

I have a lot of new additions this month so I'd better stop chatting and talk you through what's made it into this month's beauty favourites.

Tea and Cake at Molly's

You know those times when you walk down the same street you've walked down a hundred times before and you're in your own little world, thinking about a million and one things you have to do. Well it was one of those occasions when a friend, who I'd not seen in ages, stopped me to say hello. We chatted for a bit and caught up with what was happening in each other's lives, when she suddenly asked me if I'd ever been in Molly's Tea Room and she pointed towards the shop that we were standing right outside. I had to admit I didn't even know it was there! She asked me if I'd got time for a quick cup of tea and it just so happened that particular day I was on top of my very long to do list. So in we went.

Shadow Switch Review

Does anyone really love cleaning their makeup brushes? It can seem like a real chore but I do try and clean mine at least once a week, however I will admit to sometimes using a dab of makeup remover on a cotton pad to wipe over the brush, especially if it's been a busy week and I've just not had time to clean them properly or I want to use my favourite blending brush for a neutral eye shadow and it's still full of yesterdays dark smokey eye shades.
I know, surely there's an easier way to get just one or two brushes clean and without going through all the hassle of waiting for them to dry afterwards?

My Must Have Accessories For Autumn

Hurray, my first fashion post for the new season! As the days get colder and the nights get darker earlier, I thought I'd dig out a few favourite autumn accessories of mine that will see me right through the next few months. I've had a huge clear out in my wardrobe lately but there are some classic items that I just can't part with and will look perfect with any new clothing I get this year.
As I mentioned in my Autumn post, I am really getting excited about the season this year and that goes for clothing and accessories too.

So let's see what my must have accessories for Autumn are.

Poundland Haul

Quite a while ago I discovered that I really enjoyed shopping in Poundland, you can safely say I am slightly addicted to it. I find it's a great place to pick really good blog props, branded beauty products, cute homeware pieces and even my basic stationery items.
However, I've never been brave enough to try their own make up brand, Make Up Gallery apart from the odd nail varnish. Last month I was in Poundland stocking up on beauty basics, tissues and cotton wool, oh and I'd even picked up some sweet treats for a movie night, and there right near the tills was the Make Up Gallery stand. I actually went over because I'd been looking for a yellow nail varnish but sadly they didn't have one, yet it got me thinking, would the other products in this £1 makeup range be any good?
So after much deliberation as to whether or not to try it and looking through their vast range of products, I finally decided on a few items to take home with me and test out.

So here's what I got.

What I Love About Autumn

Do you know how incredibly excited I am about Autumn this year? And I mean really excited! It surprised me because I usually love the Spring but this year it just seems so different. Last September I hadn't even started my blog so this year I've been reading more posts about Autumn and that's really helped to get me in the mood. A few Saturday's ago I even put away most of my summer clothes, that's how excited I've been to dig out the chunky knits! Then of course, the weather has been really warm and sunny ever since, so all of you Autumn lovers out there can blame me for that, I think I jinxed it!

So here are all of my favourite things about Autumn.

Amelia Moss Skincare*

I first starting looking after my skin a number of years ago now, but before that I'd just slap on the first thing I had to hand and didn't really think about what I was putting on my skin or the effects it would have. I really want to keep looking after my skin and continue to have a good routine, using the right products for my skin type which is also really important to me. I've been looking more at what goes into a product and what benefits it will have on my skin so when Amelia Moss got in touch with me to talk about their 100% natural oils I was keen to learn more and they very kindly sent me their Jojoba Oil and Rose Water skin toner for me to try. All of their products are multi-purpose, you can use the oil as a cleanser, moisturiser and even work some through your hair to help combat dryness. I love this really simple, yet very effective, skincare routine from Amelia Moss. The brand has five different oils and they are all completely natural and 100% pure and organic, straight from the nut or plant, so you really know what you're actually putting onto your skin, there aren't any nasty surprises.

Monthly Favourites

I hope you've all had a wonderful month since my last monthly favourites post. Normally I'm sitting here writing how fast the month has flown by, but for me August seemed to have dragged on forever. It's been a funny month with a real mix of emotions, there have been times when I've felt really happy and other times I've just felt really down after a few stressful things that have happened. On the whole though, things are going quite well at the moment and I'm hoping it stays that way.
So I'll get straight into talking you through my beauty and lifestyle favourites from August.

Things That Make Me Happy

Very often it's the simplest of things in life that make me happy. Those little things that I can sometimes take for granted and other times I've had to raid my penny pot in order to have a little treat! Well, a girl's got to have a few treats, right?
I've always loved writing and have kept a diary for years where I've written down what's made me happy on that particular day, as well as what's made me really angry or upset. It was while I was reading through some old teenage diaries a few weeks ago that gave me the inspiration for this post, so I thought it would be quite nice to share what things make me happy throughout the year.

Monday 29 August 2016

Blossoming Gifts Bouquet *

I love having fresh flowers in my house, especially in my favourite vase on my dressing table in the bedroom so it's the first thing I see in the morning. I think they really add a touch of colour and brighten up any room. I've had flowers sent to me for my birthday or if I've left a company where I've been working and it's always wonderful to receive them from special people in my life. Other times, I've usually been to a local shop and bought a bunch of flowers if I need to cheer myself up.

A few weeks ago Abby from Blossoming Gifts emailed me to asked if I'd like to receive and write about one of their beautiful bouquets. Of course, it didn't take me too long to reply and say that this is would be something I'd love to do. The only problem I had was deciding which bouquet to have!

One very special thing I do have for all of you is an exclusive discount code! But more about that later.

How I Style A Black Lace Dress

I realise that I'm probably getting a bit late with a Summer fashion post as everyone's more than likely thinking about getting their Autumn coats! But do you know what? It's not very often that I find a spaghetti strap dress that I not only love, but also feel confident enough to wear and have my photo taken wearing it.
The little black dress has been a wardrobe staple for years and believe me, I've had my fair share of them. I think it's one of the easiest pieces to style, whatever the season or occasion. It's the first thing I grab for a last minute party invite, chuck on a statement necklace and a pair of heels and I'm good to go!
But black lace in Summer? That's a different story.

Monday 15 August 2016

Glossybox August 2016

I'm slightly obssessed with beauty products and when something as gorgeous as my monthly Glossybox arrives in the post I do tend to get a little bit excited. Normally I'd tear straight into the box without even thinking about photos or a blog post as I'm way too impatient and can't wait to see what's inside. So I thought that this month I'd share my first unboxing post with you and let you have a sneaky peak of what came in the August Glossybox  (sorry - Spoiler Alert!!).

It's Glossybox's 5th birthday and to celebrate this month they've joined up with the luxury accessory label Rae Feather to give subcribers a special collectors edition, including an accessory exclusively designed by the brand, and the packaging is definitely different to their usual pink and black style.
Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription service and inside each box there are 4 to 5 carefully selected makeup, hair, body or nail products from well known or new brands.

So let's see what's inside.

My Haircare Essentials

I've been having my hair colour treated and using heated appliances for years and it's really taken it's toll on the condition of my hair. Don't get me wrong, I love my long hair and I will never have it cut short but it can be a real pain to maintain sometimes. I did have it cut to about shoulder length once and I really regretted it afterwards, then spent months moaning about it until my hair finally grew back to a length that made me feel like me again. My natural hair colour is a kind of strawberry blonde, so I'm not really very adventurous when it comes to dying it different colours though, I've just gone a lot blonder. The only time I have ever seen myself with dark hair was when I wore a black wig for a Halloween party I went to and I'd dressed up as a witch, it seemed so weird, but I had such a brilliant night that it was worth it!
I thought it was about time I did a whole post that was purely about my haircare routine and for those of you with dry, colour treated hair, this may be of some help. All of these products are ones that I've found to work well on my hair type and keep it in good condition. Some of them are old favourites, a couple are new discoveries but these are the hair products that I'm currently reaching for every week.

What I've Been Up To

Blimey, I can't believe we are well over half way through this year and July seemed to fly past so fast that I barely had time to catch my breath. Mind you, it was a busier month that normal for me after a few lows the month before so I was probably making up for things. We lost a close member of our family and even though she had been ill for some time it still came as a shock and my way to deal with grief is to shut myself away from the rest of the world. I suppose we all deal with these things differently. Ruth was a cheeky, fun loving lady who was always the life and sole of the party and I'll always remember the good times we spent together most Wednesdays. I know she would want me to make the most of everyday and do whatever made me happy. I can hear her now saying "Stop worrying about it and just get on with it!"
You see, she knew me well as I'm a natural worrier. It's all too easy for me to think of reasons why not to do something, rather than hey, give it a go and if it fails then at least I've tried.
One of the things I've wanted to do for a while is introduce a few more lifestyle posts, but my blog mainly covers fashion and beauty so I just kept putting it off. I think the last post I wrote about what I've been up to was in the New Year. I thought it would be a nice way to look back on what I have done but somehow I've found it hard to sit at my computer and let the words flow in an "On Line Diary" kind of way.
So I'm going to stop worrying and just get on with it!

Monthly Favourites: July

Yes, it's time for the monthly favourite post again! I have a few makeup items that I've just really enjoyed using and a couple of lifestyle things that have made me really happy this month.
So I'll jump straight to it.

Tuesday 26 July 2016

Daily Skincare: LIQ C Serum*

Every morning and evening I like to do a full skincare routine as not only am I looking after my skin but I find it's almost like a mini pamper session and very therapeutic, especially at end of a long day. One of the products I love to use is a serum, which I've mentioned a few times in previous posts. I've been using one for a while now and have noticed what a big difference it has made to my skin's appearance compared to applying just a moisturiser on it's own after cleansing and toning.
A serum has helped with a whole host of skin problems from giving my skin a bit of a boost to brighten it up and to give it some much needed re-hydration.
For me another area I worry about are the signs of getting older. I know this is something that I can't stop (oh if only!) but by using a serum it has helped with any fine lines I do have and hopefully keep it looking younger for just that little bit longer.

Primers I've been using

A good primer is one of those products that I just love having in my makeup bag and with so many around it's hard to know which one to choose. Some primers claim to hide your pores, some give you a matte finish or a lovely super glow and some actually give your makeup a little extra staying power.
Using a primer was something that I never really used to bother about until recently, now that I do I've noticed a big difference with how my makeup looks and lasts.
There are two main primers I've been testing out recently and I'm sure, like me, you've probably seen both of these talked about a lot. So I wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
Here's how I got on.

Monday 11 July 2016

Real Techniques Brush Cleaning Palette

Cleaning my make up brushes is one of those jobs that I know I need to do but it can take forever and sometimes it can feel like a real chore. I know it's good hygiene to regularly remove all the oil, make up residue and dead skin cells (sounds disgusting doesn't it!) and with some brushes not being cheap I also want to make them last longer and get my money's worth.
Normally I'd clean my brushes using my hands and some baby shampoo, occasionally a tiny drop of baby oil first on sponges and brushes that have been used for foundation or concealer as it helps break down the build up of product.
So when I came across Real Techniques brush cleaning palette a while back I thought it was just one of those things that I didn't need and that there were other things to spend my money on. I saw more and more people using them and saying how good they were by saving them so much time with this weekly chore. I had a moment of weakness and ended up buying one.

Random Facts About Me

I thought it'd be quite fun for you to get to know me a little better now I've been blogging for a few months with a some totally random facts about me that you may not already know. You may have come across a couple of these already but stick around and you may find out something new, including a few personal ones.

June Beauty Favourites

It only seems like yesterday that I was writing last months favourites post and I can't believe we're here again already!
Now I've talked a lot about my favourite makeup products recently so I wanted to concentrate more on what skincare products I've been absolutely loving during June.
I like to take care of my skin all year round but while we are in the warmer months there's more of it on show due to wearing lighter clothes with short sleeves or open toe shoes and using lighter makeup products too. Although we haven't had too many really hot days so far, you just never know and I always like to be prepared, just in case!
So, lets get straight on with this months beauty favourites.

Monday 27 June 2016

My 5 Favourite Lipsticks

I have quite a collection of everyday colours, but there are times when I like to pop on a brighter colour such as an evening out or just because it's a sunny day and I feel like wearing one. There are also days when I just like to stick on a clear lipgloss or a lip balm, usually when I'm at home or I've over slept in the morning and haven't got time to put on a nice glossy lippy.
I've been having so much fun playing around with different lipstick shades lately. However it did go a bit wrong the other day as I bought a deep plum lipgloss which I'd swatched on the back of my hand whilst in the shop and thought ooh that's gorgeous. Unfortunately when I got home and tried it on my lips I realised it was completely the wrong colour for me. Oh well, you live and learn! So I gave it to someone who I know will get far more use out of it than it being sat in my draw for the rest of eternity.

Superdrug Haul

If you're following me on Twitter already you may have seen that a few weeks ago I mentioned I'd been into town and treated myself to a few things. I usually get really excited when I end up coming home with some pretty new products to play around with. I also picked up a few items to replace ones that were almost finished.
My local Superdrug is one of their smaller stores as I live in a quiet little town in Hertfordshire. I do have the option of going to their Stevenage store which has a much larger range of brands in stock, and of course I can always shop on line.
I've not done a Haul post before but I actually love reading them on other blogs or watching haul videos on YouTube so I thought I'd show you what items I picked up.

What I Wore to The Swiss Gardens

It was a gorgeous sunny June day and I'd got all excited that the sun was out which meant I could finally wear a summer's outfit. So I went riffling through my wardrobe and found just what I was looking for.
I was going for a day out at The Swiss Gardens in Bedfordshire and I just knew this was also going to make the perfect setting for taking a few photos for my next outfit post.

Monday 13 June 2016

The Beauty Blogger Tag

Last week I was tagged by Sarah from Writing Rambling to do The Beauty Blogger Tag. I've not done a beauty tag before and it's one I'd love to do, all you have to do is answer the questions. So I won't waffle on too much and get straight to it.

Monday 6 June 2016

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette
I thought it was high time I got a new blusher as this is one thing I don't seem to have enough of, so while I was in town a few weeks ago I popped into Superdrug to check out what they'd got. I'm already a fan of Makeup Revolution as I have a few of their eyeshadow palettes, which I absolutely love, and I'd been wanting to try a few more of their products for a while so of course I was immediately drawn to the Makeup Revelution section first. I'd decided on getting a powder palette and not the cream as I'm not particularly very good at applying cream blushers, or maybe I just need more practice! I was expecting to purchase one or two single blushers but the Sugar and Spice colour palette caught my eye immediately as I think the pretty pink tones seem to suit my skin tone and hair colouring.

Monday 30 May 2016

May Beauty Favourites

Well what an exciting month May has been. I've been out and about with my husband for those long walks that we both really love and find so relaxing. I've been on a few lunch dates with friends who I haven't seen for ages, plus I went for a coffee date with another friend who I'd not seen in 5 years as she'd moved away but we've kept in touch, so while she was down this way visiting her family we thought it would be a great idea to have a catch up. To end the month off I went to a friend's daughter's 1st birthday party where I ate far too much food and even attempted to sing Happy Birthday!
So Monthly Favourites time again, yes I know, it does come round so quickly!
I've been trying a few new products this month and these are the ones I've enjoyed using the most.

Monday 23 May 2016

My Favourite Summer Nail Polishes

I was having a huge Spring clean a few weeks back and one of the things I did was sort through all of my nail polishes. I seem to have built up quite a large collection, actually I think it's probably an addiction alongside nude lipsticks as I can't seem to go too long without buying one or the other and I really don't need anymore. Maybe I should write a list of goals for the rest of the year and number one should be "Must not buy anymore nail polishes"! Ha, ha! Now that really would be a challenge.

One of the things I love about Summer is being able to paint my toes nails in a lovely bright colour and have them on show wearing a pair of summer sandles. Let's hope the weather stays nice enough for me to do this.
I am rubbish at being able to grow my finger nails though. I manage to get them to a certain length and then they either brake or I end up filing them down. I did try having gels for a while last year but I found they completely ruined my nails, maybe I kept having them for too long without a break in-between.

Well, with Summer not that far off now it was time to put away the darker colours for winter and dig out some brighter colours. I thought it would be nice to write a post and show you some of my favourite nail polishes for this time of year.

Thursday 19 May 2016

Pretty Prints

I don't think my style has changed too much over the years, I'll always be a girly girl. I've got a bit more adventurous as I've got older though and bought things that I wouldn't have a few years ago.
However each year I love to get out the floaty summer dresses, they're just so comfortable to wear, and each year I'll buy another one to add to my wardrobe. I'm really loving this pretty floral midi dress right now with the combination of blue and green in the print. I'm sure if everyone was wearing zebra print I'd still be wearing florals!

Baker Days Letterbox Cake Review

I do enjoy sitting down to a cup of tea and a slice of cake, particularly on special occasions such as my birthday. I think it's great that you can send flowers or gifts through the post but now you can even send a personalized cake to someone, delivered straight through their letterbox.
I'd seen Baker Days come up a few times on social media, so when they contacted me asking if I'd like to try their letterbox cake I thought what a lovely idea.
Baker Days is a company that specialises in personalised celebration cakes and they provide a delicious range of fillings and sizes for any occasion.

Monday 9 May 2016

The Weekend Outfit

You may have seen in a previous blog post that I enjoy taking a stroll in the countryside as often as I can, and that's exactly what I did over the May Bank Holiday weekend. We went to Hitchwood in Hertfordshire and the bluebells were out in full colour. It was so peaceful and great to get out in the fresh air just listening to the sounds of nature. The day wasn't quite warm enough for me to go bare legged as there was still a spring chill in the air and my feet were going nowhere near a pair of open toe shoes until I'd had a pedicure, or at least stuck some nail varnish on my toes!
I fished out my denim knee length skirt as I thought this would make a nice change to wearing jeans for a casual weekend outfit.

Monday 2 May 2016

April Beauty Favourites

These months are going way to quickly, where on earth did April go?
First I thought I'd just mention a personal favourite as on the 14th April my husband and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. We went out for a lovely meal at a local pub called The Fox and both enjoyed our food plus a few glasses of wine to toast the day.
Another happy occasion was that we attended a family wedding. Oh I do love a good wedding! Or maybe I just love the food and party afterwards, ha ha! Anyway, even though it wasn't my special day I still had my hair done especially for the day and put on my best party frock. It was really good to meet up with relatives who we hadn't seen for ages and have a good natter too.

So back to this months beauty favourites. I think this post is probably more like a drugstore haul as they were all bought on one of those days when I'd popped in for one thing and came out with a few extras but anyway these are the products that I've loved using during April.

Monday 25 April 2016

What's In My Spring Makeup Bag

Like everyone , I have my absolute favourite makeup products that I seem to reach for everyday. This year I have made a concious effort to play around with colour a bit more and there are some beautiful pastel nail polishes and lipsticks in the shops at the moment. There are some days when I just want to wear a light, natural look or maybe brighten it up with a lovely bold pink lipstick. If I'm not doing much at the weekend then I tend to wear just a tinted moisturiser, mascara and a lip gloss or if I'm pushed for time then I will keep it to the bare minium. Usually though as the weather warms up I will swap my heavier makeup colours for lighter tones and try out a few new season products. So after having a good sort out of my makeup collection I thought I'd show you a few favourite items in my Spring makeup bag.

Monday 18 April 2016

Blue Floral Skirt

You probably already know that I wear a lot of neutral colours. My wardrobe is full of blacks, creams, beiges, browns and greys, so occasionally I love to introduce some colour to make it look a bit fresher for whatever season we're in. Sometimes I can be a bit of an impulse shopper and go right ahead and buy something without thinking what do I already have that it will go with, but when I came across this beautiful blue floral skirt I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I just had to have it. As I held it in my hand I could visualise outfits I'd be able to style using the skirt and items that I already owned. The skirt is really versatile and would be great for any occasion.

Monday 11 April 2016

March Beauty Favourites

I can't believe it's monthly favourites time again! Where did March go? I've been extremely busy and with Easter being earlier this year I've also enjoyed spending time with my family over the extra long weekend. I did manage to find some time to reorganise my makeup storage area which was quite relaxing plus it will be much easier to find things on a daily basis.
So back to the things I've been reaching for the most this month. There are a few new products and an old favourite that I've found a new use for.

Monday 4 April 2016

Denim Flares

Over the last few weeks I've been packing up my winter clothes, sorting through anything that I can still use while we're mid season and to make room for a few cheeky purchases I've made. I'm really into denim at the moment especially with so many great pieces in the shops to choose from and a pair of jeans will always be on my list of wardrobe staples. I would normally go for a pair of stretch skinny jeans but I came across these ones which are slightly flared and when I tried them on I absolutely loved them.

Monday 28 March 2016

Blue Eyeshadow Makeup Look

So far I've really been enjoying 2016. At the start of the year I set myself a few personal goals and I'm slowly working through them one by one. Being a bit more experimental with certain things also featured on my list so I thought why not be a bit more adventurous with my makeup as well.  I treated myself to the Elf Eyes 100 Eyeshadow Palette and I've been having great fun playing around using the eyeshadow colours to create different looks. With it being a new season I wanted to do something a little bit brighter with my makeup and move away from my favourite smokey eye look so I decided to do a makeup look using blue eyeshadows.
I thought I would share my finished look and show you what products I've used.

Wednesday 23 March 2016

Things I love about Spring

Spring has to be my favourite time of year. After months of cold weather, dark days and being wrapped up in several layers of clothing. Spring really does make me feel more optimistic and full of energy. I start to make plans and feel much more positive about actually achieving them.
So I thought I'd do something a little different to my usual fashion or beauty post and tell you why I love the Spring.

Tuesday 22 March 2016

The Liebster Award

You may have already seen what the Liebster Award is. It's not an actual award but when a blogger shows a token of appreciation and nominates you, they ask you to answer their questions and then you nominate other bloggers with your own questions. I love getting to meet new bloggers and finding out more about them. I also think it's a great way to have bit of fun too!

I was honoured and excited to have been nominated by the lovely Aisling from Aisling's Apparel. I love reading her fashion and beauty blog and finding out what she's been up to. I'd like to say thank you Aisling for the nomination, it was such a lovely surprise.

Things I Do To Relax

Sometimes i get so wrapped up in everyday life that I forget what's important and what isn't. Life can become so stressful with all those everyday tasks that need to get done and I end up feeling so overwhelmed with it all and struggle to keep up.
I try not to dwell on things too much and remember that my personal well-being needs to come first. So as often as I can I spend a few minutes or a few hours having some "me time" to unwind and relax.
Here are my top 10 favourite things to help me relax.

1970s Inspired Outfit

1970s fever is hitting fashion again and will be staying well into Autumn Winter 2016. The Seventies gave us Hippie Chic, Glam Rock and even Punk and eventually becoming an iconic decade for fashion. Charlie's Angels, big lapels, flares and the "Farrah" flick, not forgetting corduroy, suede, denim and velvet were all big in the Seventies. People were inspired by what they saw in Jackie magazine or on Top of The Pops, then shopped at Camden Market to buy their own version or made it themselves at home whilst listening to vinyl on their record players. Designers are still inspired by some of the original icons of the time, Stevie Nicks, Farrah Fawcett and Bianca Jagger to name a few.
Now I love wearing vintage inspired outfits and I'll try not to wear all the pieces at once as I don't want to look like a reject from Pans People!

February Favourites

I can't believe another month has passed and we are in March already. Finally, Spring maybe just around the corner after what seems like a very long Winter!
I've been relatively good with my spending this month as I'm saving up for a few bigger purchases, but I couldn't go the whole month without having a few little treats.
They are mainly beauty purchases as well as a great pair of shoes I bought which I absolutely love!
So this is what I've loved using during February.

Everyday Stripes

I actually surprised myself the other day by venturing out of the house in another print other than floral. I've worn stripes before but I usually style a casual striped T-shirt with jeans but on this occasion I wanted to feel a little more pulled together.

Green Eye Liner Make Up Look

From when I started using make up in my teens I've always used black or dark brown eye liner. I've shied away from using any other colour, I supposed because I knew what I liked or what tended to suit me. A few weeks ago I watched a YouTube video by Jess at Beautiful Breakable (you can see her video HERE) and she really inspired me to try out a different look for myself. So off I went to purchase some green eye liner and a green eyeshadow and I thought I'd share the finished look with you.

Mad for Monochrome

It's all very nice to have bold colours and pastels for Spring, but there are just some days I don't want to worry about what colours and patterns match when I'm putting together my outfit.
Monochrome is a trend that does keep popping up but I think its such a classic look that it's great to wear any time of the year. Anything with a black and white colour palette will simplify your look whilst adding a tough of sophistication. Florals, stripes, polka dots and graphic prints all work with Monochrome.

My Morning Skincare Routine

If you're like me and have dry, sensitive skin, then finding the right skincare products can be difficult. I've tried many different ones over the years in hope of finding the right moisturiser or cleanser and not breaking out in itchy red patches all over my face.
I started looking after my skin when I was in my 20s. Up until then I just bought any product that looked good or someone else was using, regardless or whether is was suitable for my skin type.
This is my morning skincare routine and what products I use. They have made a real difference to my skins appearance.
