Blue Floral Skirt

You probably already know that I wear a lot of neutral colours. My wardrobe is full of blacks, creams, beiges, browns and greys, so occasionally I love to introduce some colour to make it look a bit fresher for whatever season we're in. Sometimes I can be a bit of an impulse shopper and go right ahead and buy something without thinking what do I already have that it will go with, but when I came across this beautiful blue floral skirt I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I just had to have it. As I held it in my hand I could visualise outfits I'd be able to style using the skirt and items that I already owned. The skirt is really versatile and would be great for any occasion.

The knee length skirt is a soft flowing satiny material with a few large pleats from the hips down. I wanted to look smart for a day of appointments so I've worn it with an ivory ribbed long sleeve jumper and a camel blazer. I've used the blue in the skirt for the colour choice of my accessories and added a pair of blue heels and a blue tote bag. I can see I'm going to get quite a lot of use out of this skirt over the coming months as it would equally look lovely paired with a pretty cream top and strappy flats for a day time look or a blue top, heels and a clutch bag to wear to a wedding.
This wasn't exactly the perfect outfit to wear to stop off on my way home to take photographs of the wildlife but it was a lovely place to take the photos of the outfit!

Thank you for reading. Are you an impulse shopper or do you plan what you can wear with an item before you buy it?
